This Privacy Policy describes how Starlight Psychotherapy ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit starlightpsychotherapy.com (the "Site"). It does not apply to the confidential clinical information we collect and maintain about our clients in the course of providing therapy services, which is governed separately by HIPAA and the Notice of Privacy Practices provided to clients directly.

Information We Collect

Information you provide to us. When you use our Contact form or Schedule a Session form, we collect the information you enter, which may include your name, email address, phone number, requested appointment time, therapist preference, and any message you write.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically collect certain technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, through our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and analytics tool (Google Analytics).

Bot protection. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to help distinguish real visitors from automated bots when you submit a form. This may involve Cloudflare processing some technical information about your browser and connection; see Cloudflare's own privacy policy for details.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you submit through our forms solely to:

• Respond to your inquiry or contact request
• Schedule or discuss a requested therapy session
• Communicate with you about your inquiry

We use automatically collected analytics information to understand how visitors use our Site so we can improve it, and to protect the Site from spam and abuse.

We do not use information submitted through our website forms for marketing or advertising purposes, and we do not sell or rent your information to third parties.

Important Note About Sensitive Information

Our Contact and Schedule a Session forms are intended for general inquiries and appointment requests only. Please do not submit detailed health information, crisis situations, or other sensitive clinical details through these forms — they are not a secure clinical communication channel. If you are an existing client, please use the communication method your therapist has provided you. If you are in crisis or experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. We are not able to provide immediate crisis support.

How Information Is Stored and Retained

Form submissions are delivered directly to our practice email inbox via Microsoft 365; we do not store form submissions in a separate database. We retain email correspondence in accordance with our normal business record-keeping practices.

Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate our Site, each of which processes limited information as described above and maintains its own privacy practices:

• Cloudflare — website hosting, security, and bot protection (Turnstile)
• Microsoft — email delivery for form submissions (Microsoft 365)
• Google — website analytics (Google Analytics)

Cookies

Our analytics tool (Google Analytics) uses cookies to distinguish visitors and understand site usage. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google's browser add-on.

Your Rights

You may contact us at any time to ask what information we have received from you through our forms, or to request that we delete it. We will respond to reasonable requests as quickly as we are able.

Children's Privacy

Our Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children through our website forms.
